Seaweed Queen

An utterly random piece I did last night. I was going through pages and pages of the stock gallery (I never found what I was looking for, alas) and ran across the picture of the woman and loved it so much that I had to do something with it. This is special because I've never done portraity pictures of anyone other than me, because I feel as if I have to do a lot to the photo to make it different from, well, everyone else's. When it's me, it's my photography, so I can do as much or as little to it as possible. Anyhow, I was just playing with the picture at first, and this image gradually began to take shape. At first I was just painting her hair blonde, and then I thought "Y'know, it's really stupid to be painting her hair the exact colour that it already is" and the first alternate colour I lit on was the green out of her eyes. And after a while I thought that her hair looked rather seaweedy, so I had to whip up a background to match. All in all this was about three hours.
